Countdown begins September 20…

Countdown begins September 20…

Are you passionate about film-making? Do you have a story to tell?

Well, here’s some news for you! The India Film Project, which started 2 years ago, returns this September. IFP 2013 will see thousands of filmmakers take the 48-hour film-making challenge. Yes. You’ll have exactly 48 hours to shoot your short film and submit it as an entry into the contest.

What does the film have to be about? You’ll know that on Day 1 (Sept 20) of the contest. A common theme/genre will be given to the participants. You’ve to script, shoot, edit and submit the film by Sept 22. Last day to register is September 14, 2013.

The jury includes Tigmanshu Dhulia (Paan Singh Tomar) and and Nikhil Advani (D-Day). Shoojit Sircar, Vikramaditya Motwane, Sanjay Gadhvi and Rajesh Mapuskar have previously served as jury.

IFP (previously: Ahmedabad Film Project) saw more than 2000 filmmakers participate in the last two editions from all across the country. Some of the winning films even made it to international film festivals. Over 7000 will be competing this time around. The event, which runs September 20-28, will be webcast live on their website.

The event is being ‘crowdfunded’ (an indispensably compelling tool for indie filmmakers in times to come) by Catapooolt. Catapooolt is also in the process of crowdfunding two films – Cutthroat, directed by Sarthak Dasgupta (who directed The Great Indian Butterfly) and The Indian Sporting Struggle (a documentary by Delhi-based filmmaker Aparna Gupta Apte).

Here’s the other big surprise, coming September 20 (*-*)
